Public Speaking Workshop
Public Speaking Workshop for Boys & Girls
Build confidence. Express your ideas. Find your voice.
Join MCWAS and Sutton Muslim Youth for a day of practical public speaking training led by professional Speakers Trust trainers, known for delivering the Jack Petchey ‘Speak Out’ Challenge!
As Muslims, we have a responsibility to speak truthfully, respectfully and with purpose. Learning to communicate well can help our young people explain their faith, stand up for what is right and contribute positively to their communities.
Through interactive exercises and opportunities to practise, participants will learn how to organise their ideas, speak clearly and communicate with greater confidence in an environment that respects their Islamic identity.
Whether your child enjoys speaking or feels nervous about addressing others, this workshop offers a supportive opportunity to develop skills they can use at school, in the masjid and beyond.
Who Can Attend?
Boys and girls aged 11–14, in school Years 7–9.
Boys and girls will attend separate workshops on different floors of MCWAS. The girls’ workshop will be led by a female instructor.
What Will Participants Learn?
How to prepare and structure a speech.
How to express ideas clearly and confidently.
How to use their voice and body language effectively.
Practical ways to manage nerves.
How to engage an audience.
We hope these skills will help participants represent their values with confidence, speak with good character and use their voices to benefit others.
