Scout Adventures – Gilwell Park, London
Boys aged 11–15
Join us for a two-night residential retreat combining Islamic learning, outdoor adventure and brotherhood in a beautiful woodland setting. Organised by the Muslim Cultural & Welfare Association of Sutton (MCWAS) and Sutton Muslim Youth, this retreat offers young Muslims the opportunity to strengthen their faith, build lasting friendships and grow in confidence.
Our theme is In the Footsteps of the Prophet ﷺ.
Through interactive sessions and discussions, participants will explore the life and character of the Prophet ﷺ and how his example can guide their everyday lives. We will reflect on his kindness, courage, worship and dealings with others, helping participants put these lessons into practice at home, at school and among friends. Alongside these sessions, participants will enjoy outdoor activities, team challenges and time together away from their usual routines. The programme includes:
Congregational prayers and educational sessions with scholars.
Outdoor adventures and team-building activities.
Opportunities to appreciate Allah’s creation.
Campfire evening.
Time to build friendships and develop confidence, independence and leadership skills.
The £100 retreat fee includes:
Two nights’ accommodation.
Educational sessions and workshops.
Outdoor activities.
Breakfast, snacks and dinner.
Transport is not included.
Participants will stay on-site at Scout Adventures – Gilwell Park for the duration of the retreat. Organisers and group leaders will supervise participants throughout their stay, supporting them as they take part in the programme and spend time with fellow Muslim youth.
Parents and guardians are responsible for arranging transport to and from the venue.

Arrival and collection times will be confirmed before the retreat.
Please arrive promptly at the confirmed time for registration and the opening programme. Families are welcome to arrange car sharing, although all transport arrangements remain the responsibility of parents and guardians.
Participants should bring warm clothing, waterproof outerwear and suitable footwear for outdoor activities in January. A full packing list and further information will be shared before the retreat.
The wellbeing of participants is a priority throughout the retreat. Experienced organisers, volunteers, mentors and group leaders will supervise the programme. Parents and guardians should inform the organisers of any medical conditions, allergies, dietary requirements or additional needs when registering.
£100 per person
Spaces are limited, so please register early to avoid disappointment.
