New Resident Scholar
📣 Sheikh Muhammad Ziyad Batha Appointed as MCWAS Resident Scholar 👏🏽🤲
As part of our medium to long-term strategic vision, the MCWAS Board of Trustees decided during last Ramadan to recruit a Resident Scholar for our centre.
Responsible for delivering religious education, providing pastoral care and guiding the community on spiritual and social matters, the Resident Scholar will play a key role in youth mentorship, offering leadership development opportunities and creating a strong sense of identity amongst young Muslims.
On Wednesday evening, at our MCWAS Members’ Meeting, and again on Friday during Jumu’ah, we officially introduced our new Resident Scholar to the community. We are delighted to announce that Sheikh Muhammad Ziyad Batha, a familiar and respected figure in our community, will assume the role from September 2025 insha’Allah.

We are truly excited for the journey ahead and have already held several planning meetings for a variety of activities and programmes launching in September insha’Allah.
We kindly request everyone to make Dūa that this role brings abundant barakah and helps make MCWAS a beacon of inspiration and guidance for all.
Jazakum’Allah-Khair,
MCWAS Management
